Dr. Gertz has been treating Steve for a pancreatitis flare up (don't try those Wuffles treats you see advertised all over. Good marketing campaign but very bad for your dogs if you dig a little deeper). Anyway, Dr. Gertz and her team do an amazing job taking care of Steve and explaining to us what is going on. Steve has a pre-existing spine condition and the SOCAL Vet team always pay attention and are extra cautious to ensure his safety while being taken care of. We've been coming here for years (prior to the new doctors) now and will continue to do so. Steve is in great hands at this office and your pet will be too!

Thank you to Dr. Luna for taking care of my Louise. It's hard to find places that will provide care for goats. Louise needed a small cancerous mass removed from her rear end. I knew Dr's. Luna and Gertz from their prior work with farm animals. I have absolute confidence in their ability and compassion. I would highly recommend them. The prices are very reasonable for the services as well. Louise was leery in the office but seems to have gotten over it now that she is back home.

Dr Gertz and everyone at SoCal Vet is amazing, I can call and not feel like I am the crazy Frenchie Mom. They always ease my concerns and doesn’t do unnecessary things. I am always given the least expensive option and what can wait vs what might be needed. I honestly considered not moving because of this dr and vet staff but unfortunately I need to, but definitely considering any routine visit will entail a San Marcos Visit. Kona and I will very well miss coming here.

I had such a great experience at SoCal Veterinary Hospital in San Marcos with my puppy, Phoenix! From the moment we walked in, the front desk staff was so friendly and welcoming—it immediately put me at ease. The nurse who did Phoenix’s initial evaluation was incredibly attentive and made sure he felt comfortable the entire time. The doctor was also amazing—super kind, patient, and took the time to answer all of my questions without rushing. As a pet parent, that really means a lot. Overall, the entire visit was smooth, caring, and professional. I’m so happy we chose SoCal Veterinary Hospital for Phoenix’s care and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great vet experience! 🐾💙

I was referred to this team of amazing people by my daughter, who is also a customer. I have been so pleased with the service from the office but also with the doctors and assistants. They are so aware and so caring. Also they always exhaust all remedies before going for the major most expensive treatment first ( like in my past experiences) I feel so lucky to know these amazing people and I love to tell anybody and everyone looking for a vet. Out of all the vet hospitals I have been to over the years for my dogs I’ve never been to a better one than So Cal Veterinary Clinic. They took care of my entire beauceron litter & are AlWAYS so kind, professional and try to “fit me in to the schedule” when I need something asap. I couldn’t be happier with the results from Shadow’s ear cropping. I requested a Show tall ear crop, which isn’t common for Dogo Argentinos, but they immediately understood my vision and executed it perfectly. The results are absolutely stunning—exactly what I had hoped for. Despite having to travel from Seattle to California, the entire process exceeded my expectations. Shadow’s recovery was smooth, and I only needed minimal ear posting, which was a huge relief. His ears look fantastic, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Dr. Vickie is the best. We love her. All of the staff at SoCal is amazing. They are very helpful and are very nice. A veterinarian that is breeder friendly, and staff that is familiar with working dogs: priceless. Thank you all at SoCal San Marcos for being there for us.

Wonderful experience here! We brought out sheep and we are so grateful that Dr. Luna and Dr. Gertz are able to see them. Friendly care, and was surprisingly affordable!
