How to protect your teeth while playing sports
Wear a mouthguard. This is the single most important thing you can do to protect your teeth. A mouthguard can help prevent chipped, broken, or knocked-out teeth. There are many different types of mouthguards available, so talk to your dentist or orthodontist to find the best one for you.
Be aware of the risks. Contact sports like football, hockey, and boxing, are more likely to result in dental injuries than others. Be aware of the risks involved in the sport you are playing and take steps to protect yourself.
Be careful when tackling or blocking. When tackling or blocking, use your hands to protect your face and teeth. Avoid leading with your head or mouth.
