I've been using Steve Smith's epoxy products for at least 35 years now for woodworking and remodelling projects and never once been disappointed. Well, there was one failure when the seam of a 16'-long darkroom sink came apart, but that was because I placed the flatsawn wood with the cup 'up' against the seam: with time and relative humidity changes, the joint pulled apart instad of pushing together. Lesson learned. CPES and epoxy filler are dependable and indispensable but you must follow Steve's detailed mixing and curing instructions to the letter.

The CPES products are truly amazing in their ability to rehab soft wood. Can't recommend enough for both wood repair and preventative wood treatment for wood you would varnish or is exposed to the elements. (Varnish goes on treated wood great, with enhanced adhesion!)

There s nothing on the market that I've found that is as good as smith & company for restoring damaged wood, and although it's a bit expensive, I've started using it as a primer on clear finishes and the results so far have been spectacular!

Very special product that extends the life of varnish finishes on outdoor wood, such as boats, chairs, and benches.
