Chemical peels often get a bad rap, and it makes us sad because they're one of our favorite treatments to do! You can put your worries to rest knowing that our estheticians are not only fully certified in chemical peels, but also boast extensive training and experience in performing them. Your skin is in expert hands! 😎
Here are common Q&A’s we get about peels:
What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel is a professional skincare treatment that involves an application of a specifically formulated chemical solution to the skin’s surface that encourages an increase in cellular turnover through exfoliation. Increased cellular turnover results in the production of collagen and elastin that leaves the skin smooth, bright and refined.
What is peel season?
Peel season is when the days are shorter, and the weather is cooler. ☁️ These typically happen in the fall or winter months. During summer, we typically spend most most our our time in the sun, which is why we recommend scheduling your peels in the fall or winter to avoid most sun exposure!
Do peels hurt or burn?
While each person experiences different skin sensitivities, the peels that we use at SkinQ should never hurt or burn. There will be activity felt on the skin and your esthetician will be sure to check in and keep you comfortable.
