What are the key differences between an Indonesian FDW and a Filipino FDW in terms of service?
Filipino FDWs:
• They can speak generally acceptable English.
• Majority of them are Catholics or Christians.
• Generally, they require at least a day off every month. Some choose to work without off days if they are compensated by a higher pay.
Indonesian FDWs:
• They speak Bahasa Indonesia, which is quite similar to the Malay language used here in Singapore. Some of them are capable of speaking and understanding basic English.
• Majority are Muslims and due to their religion, they do not eat pork. Despite that, most of them have no issues with handling pork if they are required to do so at work.
• Generally, they are willing to work without off days if there is a compensation of a higher pay.
What are the monthly salary ranges for both Indonesian and Filipino FDWs?
For fresh helpers, the minimum monthly salaries for Indonesian FDWs and Filipino FDWs are $550 and $570 respectively.
As for experienced helpers, their monthly salaries depend on the individuals’ working capabilities and experiences. Typically, helpers with 2 - 4 years of experience will have a salary of between $580 - $600 while those with more than 4 years of experience will have a salary of $650 or more.
Can I do interviews with the FDWs even if they are not in Singapore?
Yes. Within Asia, we provide webcam and/or telephone interviews if the FDW you prefer is not in Singapore. Early notice is required.
