What Are Orthodontic Blue Bite Turbos and Why Are They Needed?
At Showtime Orthodontics, we strive to make your child’s orthodontic treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. One tool we use is the Blue Bite Turbo.
What Are Blue Bite Turbos?
Blue Bite Turbos are small blue pads placed on the back of molars or behind front teeth. They temporarily raise the bite, preventing the upper and lower teeth from fully touching.
Why Are They Placed?
• Protect Braces: They prevent the top teeth from hitting the lower braces, avoiding damage.
• Correct Bite Issues: They help fix bite problems like deep bites or crossbites by guiding teeth into the right position.
• Improve Alignment: By changing the bite slightly, they speed up the alignment process, helping teeth move more efficiently.
What to Expect
• Adjustment Period: Your child may feel their bite is different or that they can’t fully close their mouth at first. This is normal and usually improves within a few days.
• Eating and Speaking: It might take time to get comfortable eating and speaking with the Turbos. Softer foods are recommended in the beginning.
• Duration of Use: The length of time varies depending on the treatment plan. Turbos are removed once the teeth are in the correct position.
