Shoreworx recently completed a large-scale retail technology deployment for one of our vendor partner customers, installing Price Checker devices in 85 stores and hundreds of networked devices. Upon arrival at each location, our technicians collaborated with store management to inventory all hardware and materials provided by the vendor. Below is a summary of the tasks completed by our team:
• Installed one Category 5e cable at each price checker location as outlined in the floor plan (Up to three price checkers per store).
• Pulled and installed Ethernet cables from the price checker locations to the network switch area, depending on the store type.
• Terminated cables into a patch panel within the network rack.
• Terminated cables to a single port surface mount box and jack at each price checker.
• Conducted Fluke testing to verify all cabling met the customer’s standards.
• Installed Power over Ethernet (PoE) injectors to power the price checkers.
• Installed PoE injectors near the network switch and connected them to a surge protector.
• Connected price checkers to the customer-specified network switch ports.
• Installed price checkers per the floor plan, either wall-mounted with a VESA mount or pole-mounted with adjustable clamps.
• Followed safety procedures to ensure clamps were trimmed and adjusted to prevent hazards, per the customer’s guidelines.
• Installed all price checkers no higher than 48 inches above finished floor (AFF) to comply with ADA requirements.
