This shop is like a jewelry box and double “Worth” your visit!
Shades and Lamps of Fletcher is in a large strip mall, plenty of easy parking.
While inauspicious from outside, to step inside is like opening a treasure box. The contents are like jewels, selected and treasured by the young couple owners. “Worth,” the double “worth,” is not only named “Worth,” but is most “worthy” to know as third generation in this small company whose origins are auspicious, his grandmother-founder one of the great shade and lamp persons of all time.
No shop in the South East compares to the selections here.
Worth and his wife Payton enjoy offering their great collection with you. They leave you free to peruse on your own, or, can immediately direct you if requested.
As an octogenarian, I know that something as simple as a lamp, even a new lampshade, or a chosen finial raises what may be a common room to something quite individual and special.
Recently I took a floor lamp needing repair. Worth repaired it on the spot (by bending metal), no charge! My other repair-need “got in line” with their expert and I left it at the shop.
I have fun finding something new every visit. Their offering of finials does change, always worth checking. Recently I found a cut-crystal finial to replace one lost on a European lamp.
Huge lampshade selection, and you can compare the different “shades” (pun) of white and ivory.
Overall, it is a pleasant experience with Worth and Payton, and zero pressure to purchase.
Treat yourself and make a visit.
