A Cedars condominium in Dallas had leak from a shower causing water damage to other parts of the bathroom. It was a slow leak that took a while to identify. Paint and baseboards will often hide the damage within such as discoloration, soft drywall and a musty odor. Most baseboards these days are made of particle board and should be discarded. The area should be sprayed with antimicrobial as a preventative measure. Often, the drywall in this area should also be removed, then it should be dried down to bring the remaining material and surrounding air's moisture levels back to the home's benchmark.
