A Downtown Dallas apartment complex had a leak from a faulty washing machine pipe that caused flooding to 4 units. It is a remodeled building but with most of the original over 100-year-old hardwood flooring still remaining. The hardwoods are very hardy and have been through a lot but still need extra attention to make sure it survives. Initially, water needs to be extracted and topically dried from the floor. The next step is often placing a wood floor drying mat system or creating a tight, enclosed drying chamber. If wood buckles, it will often occur within a couple days to a couple weeks. Sometimes it can settle back down or just be re-sanded and re-stained without removal. If you need drying attempted for water damage to your wood floors, give our SERVPRO of Dallas Central team a call.
