In most cases daily vacuuming in high-traffic areas will suffice, but you can also pull out the vacuum cleaner attachment to give those pesky corners a good scrubbing. If your rug has spilled on it (or if you want to make sure there are no spills), then spot cleaning dirty grout should be part of your weekly routine.
Hard surface floors, such as tile, hardwood and laminate are usually best cleaned after each spill using soap and water or a neutral pH cleaner like surface care products. When mopping vinyl flooring remember that you should use a soap-based cleaner.
