Semper Amici Canine Training

I highly recommend this team! They are kind and down to earth. I knew my pup was safe with their team and they treated him well. This was really important for me! They help teach you (the human) what you need to do to maintain the training. They also have a community of graduates who get together a few times a month for socializing and additional training!

I am forever grateful for the team at Semper Amici! My family and I decided to invest in professional training for our female Cane Corso mix puppy, Rocky, after she bit my wife’s lip. We did a lot of research on different facilities, but we ultimately decided to do a phone consultation with Semper Amici. During the consultation, we talked about Rocky’s daily routine, her day leading up to the bite, training and payment options, and any other questions we had were answered honestly and openly. Right away my wife and I could tell that they genuinely cared about our situation. We decided on the training option that includes boarding the pup for 4 weeks at the Semper Amici training facility where they will participate in obedience training, their human family will also be trained in online courses and learn what the pup is learning, and there will be visits once a week where the family gets to train WITH the pup at the facility so they can ensure they know how to correctly handle the pup and utilize what they are learning. While Rocky was boarding, we received updates and photos, and Patty, Jose, and Michelle were always there to answer any questions we had! They took Rocky out to dog-friendly places to work on her training in the real world. We could tell that Rocky enjoyed being there and that she was being well cared for by the team! One thing that my family and I were concerned about was that after training, she would not be the same dog that we dropped off and that she would be anxious or depressed or like a robot. That was certainly NOT the case! Rocky was and is the same crazy, loving pup, but now she is obedient, understands expectations, and has manners! Training with Semper Amici has given my family and I such peace of mind because we know how to handle Rocky in the real world and how to navigate unexpected situations. It has been around 5 months since we boarded Rocky, and we have experienced plenty of unexpected situations that my family and I have successfully worked through with Rocky because of the tools and teachings Semper Amici provided us with! Knowing that you are able to handle your pup correctly, effectively, and efficiently brings you such peace of mind, especially when taking your pup out into the world. My family and I are so grateful to the team at Semper Amici for their expertise, kindness, patience, and genuine love for dogs. Training was 1 million percent worth every penny and I HIGHLY recommend Semper Amici for canine training. P.S. we are incredibly grateful for weekend classes and we know Rocky loves them!

I brought my dog Tino in for much needed training, and it's was a world of difference between pre-training and post training. It's almost like a brand new dog. He is obedient, very responsive, and understands verbal ques very well. The visual demonstration of what Tino has learned in a relatively short amount of time left me in awe. The entire staff clearly knows their stuff and I'm fully convinced that they can get any dog on the path to success. Thank you for all you do and continue to do. I'd leave 20 stars if I could.

We came to Jose and Semper Amici for help training our puppy Franklin, and started with the puppy course, soon moving into their 4 week program. From Day 1, we’ve worked with Jose and he’s so much more than just a dog trainer. You can tell his passion for helping people and their dogs goes beyond just teaching a trick or two and calling it a day. No, Semper Amici is there to teach YOU how to be a better dog owner, along with building a foundation in your dog for you to continue to work on over time, “teach a man to fish…” kind of thing. The puppy course consisted of 4 lessons in our home in which Jose met and coached us and Franklin, and he was so patient, calm and even keeled, and he was able to immediately connect with Franklin and start teaching him the basics of the program. After 4 lessons, we had already learned so much, but knew that we needed to keep going. During the All Aboard Training, we worked closely with Jose, Paul, Justin, and Patty multiple times a week to see Franklins progress, which was astounding to watch over the 4 weeks. Franklin went from being a rambunctious puppy to a much calmer and even puppy in JUST 4 weeks! Jose’s lessons were also very easy to understand and more importantly, easy to implement. Jose will take as much time as needed to make sure YOU understand the lessons he’s teaching to your dog. Semper Amici really does care about your relationship with your dog, and wants everyone who comes to them to succeed. Franklin came home today and we are eager to continue his training with Semper Amici and want them to be around for everyone and anyone who has a dog. Worth every penny.

It’s been 2 years since our then 7 month old springer spaniel went to Semper Amici and I’m still so thankful for all the work they put in with Trapper! They taught us to be the dog owners he needed to thrive and taught him how to respond and act in all situations through trust and respect!

The best trainers PERIOD! Our dog had issues with reactivity, resource guarding and pulling on the leash. Semper Amici went above and beyond to assist us with these issues and we are very grateful and happy with the results. Our boy Onyx is a lot more patient and calm when going on walks. He remains the same dog but much more obedient. Want to send a special thank you to Jose, Paul, Patty and the rest of the staff at Semper Amici. We truly appreciate you all. 😊

My dog Django and I have gone through the Hybrid Academy with Semper Amici and it was the best thing we’ve done. Django is a very reactive dog and a little on the older side so I was worried when I first reached out thinking about the old saying of “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” However, we made so much progress each week we were doing the course and continue to make progress when we go to the continued learning classes. The first time when Django met Jose for our in home assessment it went as terrible as I thought it would go, but now, it’s like Jose is his best friend. Django has definitely come far in his training and we could have never done this without the help of Semper Amici!

We love Jose and the team at Semper Amici Canine. We dropped off Kobe (an 18 month old Doberman) in July for the 4-week boarding plan. Kobe was very needy, a dog born in my home and living with us through the Covid work from home era, he is a velcro through and through. Jose and the team were very attentive to Kobe, working with him on his separation issues while training him and giving him the confidence he needed for him and I to take our relationship to the next level. I will not have a dog that has not gone through boarding with Semper Amici. Jose did a fantastic job training me also! Part of making this work depends on follow-through from the owner and consistency. I had not had a trained dog before so there were a lot of questions that I had and training that I had to go through to really make this work out for the long term. We loved Semper Amici so much that followed up training in the 8 week class with our other two dogs. This really helped us understand the basics and better communicate with our dogs to troubleshoot any problems and enhance our relationships. 10/10 would recommend Semper Amici.

Semper Amici is wonderful! My dog needed some serious help with reactivity training and I needed help learning how to control and handle him properly. The staff is so supportive and friendly I highly recommend taking your dog here for training. Our main trainer that we work with is Paul. He was very skilled, friendly, and supportive!

I found Semper Amici canine training by chance, but it was truly a god send! When when we started training our two year old two-year-old Australian shepherd, he had horrible reactivity… to the point where we could not do anything with him, and had to keep him hidden away in our home. His quality of life was not what I expected when I brought him into our lives and it was really starting to take a toll on our whole family mentally and emotionally. After receiving training our lives have been changed forever, not only has my dog become more receptive to my training but I understand so much more about the way his mind works. Semper Amici has kept us both educated throughout the process and turned us into a true team! I am now able to take my boy out on walks around the neighborhood, on hikes with friends and even out into public at breweries (which I thought would never be possible) I can not recommend Semper Amici canine training enough!!!
