Short-Circuit-Shifting: Toyota recalling 156,000 vehicles for rear doors that may open while driving
Toyota has announced that it is recalling over 156,000 vehicles in Canada, Japan, Europe and Asia over concerns that its rear doors may open unexpectedly.
The recall specifically affects Toyota’s 2023 to 2024 Prius and Prius hybrid-electric vehicles (HEVs), and has to do with concerns that water may enter and cause the rear door latches to short circuit and open while the vehicle is moving. According to the Daily Mail, Toyota mentioned the issue in a recall notice, but did not disclose whether any accidents have been reported regarding the current issue.
