Tesla has been an industry leader in pioneering manufacturing practices. But that might be changing as CEO Elon Musk moves in a new direction.
Tesla Inc. has been leading the charge for over a decade to reinvent the modern auto factory based on what CEO Elon Musk calls "first principles." That basically means throwing out the assembly line from 100 years ago and reimagining every process to be vastly more efficient, including the construction of the factory itself.
