Scarpino's Classic Italian

Our server was very disorganized. There were 8 of us. My husband and I didn't get our salads when everyone else did. Then they're supposed to make cacio de pepe table side and she never got to it. I had to ask someone else to make it. The other 6 people have been eating for about 5 minutes. Very disappointing.

Edited: 5 visits and no fails! second visit tonight! Better than the first! Try the Tuscan Salmon! Best I have ever eaten. The chicken alla vodka was phenomenal! Try the Elderflower and Pear proseco….so yummy. Phenomenal staff and super pleasant and caring owners! Finally a delicious true Italian (Sicilian) restaurant out here! I had an absolutely delicious Caesar Salad. Creamy homemade dressing. The pizza is so reminiscent of my Nonna’s homemade. I had mushroom/black olive and it was to die for! True Italian pizza in Italy is not smothered in cheese and I felt I was at a trattoria on a beautiful street in Sicily. The owner came out and chatted and was just lovely! Try this place it will definitely not disappoint!

This was our first time coming here since the ownership change. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced, with generous portions. Our server Patrick was excellent. I wish they had more options on their wine list. The house chardonnay was unpalatable to us, with a musty, almost corked taste (Grape & Vine). The premium wine list (available only by the bottle) included two chardonnays at $60 and $72 each. Fortunately, we learned that the owners allow customers to bring their own wines for a $15 corkage fee, and we will take advantage of that next time.

The atmosphere was nice and it has plenty of seating but the food was extremely disappointing and tasted bland. It was a major let down for the amount I was charged. It is incredibly overpriced and a classic italian dish, Fettuccine Alfredo, was incredibly small in portion and didn't taste good at all. Carrabba's Fettuccine Alfredo tasted better honestly. Domino's Pizza's Fettuccine Alfredo tasted better really. I recommend taking that money and going to a different Italian restaurant. You'd be able to get triple the portion for half the price.

I really like the decor and atmosphere of Scarpinos. We had a terrible start to our dining experience. We had a 6:15pm reservation on Saturday night, we arrived there a little earlier however we were not seated until after 15 mins. No problem. Except for the fact that no server approached us, my husband and I sat there and waited for about 20 mins before we flagged down one of the servers. As it turns out, he was the one assigned to our table but he was too busy with the table of next to us. For starters we ordered the zucchini fries, they were well seasoned and perfect cooked. I had the Tuscan salmon and it was delicious! Served over lemon Parmesan risotto and spinach, the fish was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the eggplant parmigiana and it was okay. Our server tried to make up for ignoring us early in the evening by giving us complimentary garlic knots. Overall a okay dining experience and I will come back.

It is so hard to find genuinely good Italian food in Tampa. Look no further because this is the place to go to. We ordered the mozerella sticks and garlic knots as an appetizer and they were both so fresh and hot it’s also important to note that their homemade marinara sauce was delicious and fresh. For our meals we got chicken parm with a side of vodka pasta and it was phenomenal. You could taste all the Italian flavors and felt authentic. You can’t go anywhere and get that good of vodka pasta. Lastly the desserts were spectacular. I would consider myself a tiramisu connoisseur, and no one around here makes it as good as Scarpino’s did. I highly recommend you try this place. The staff and manager were phenomenal!! We will be back.

Beautiful inside, service is good. Food is okay, gf options aren’t the best flavor. Gf pizza wasn’t good. Make sure to call and confirm they have gf pasta before you go as they have run out from my experience. Won’t return.

Service was great! Kudos to the staff. The food however was very basic and Im wondering about all these reviews. Food was mediocre at best. The garlic rolls seemed pretty packaged with minced garlic, the nonas meatballs taste like store bought and the ala vodka sauce had no flavor chicken was dry and overcooked. Makes me wonder if all the reviews are real. Very disappointing.

Had an absolutely fantastic dining experience! The food was delicious, but Patrick, truly made the night special. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!".
