Amazing experience with Samara Deep Sea Fishing! The crew was wonderful and perfect for our group. They were flexible, helped us catch some great fish, and even found dolphins, turtles, and whales for us to see. A top-notch adventure on the water!

Helber and Janet are over the top, always trust a captain who builds his own boat. I thank you for the memories of a lifetime

Tuna Madness!!! Have gone out with this team multiple times. Helber & Janet have built something very special here. I'd recommend going out for a fishing tour and staying at the lodge. We live in the area, but have come by the lodge for yummy renditions of the day's catch.

Captain Helber was absolutely fantastic and we had a great day of fishing thanks to his knowledge of the area. Not only did we land three large tuna, but we were also able to see the most incredible schools of during the tour. Janet was incredibly helpful and pleasant in helping us arrange out tour. We would highly, highly recommend them if you wish to have a great day at sea.

Very accommodating staff and easy to schedule. Janet exudes a beautiful and welcoming aura we appreciated. She accommodated a late request we had, and was prompt to email back. They also offer very reasonable and fair prices. My one wish was that we would have been made aware of the poor fishing conditions in the afternoon. We assumed because we were able to schedule a boat for the afternoon, that that meant fishing conditions were still prevalent. Unfortunately we did not catch anything during the 4 hours, nor did we go deep into the ocean; we were able to see shore the entire time, which wasn’t what we expected. I also want to note that our family frequently deep sea fishes and have always been able to get our hands dirty and be a part of the process. However on our boat this time, we merely got on as our guides did all the work like baiting and casting as we just watched, which made the little kids with us a bit sad. Unfortunately the captain’s English was limited so we weren’t able to communicate our needs. I also want to add that there wasn’t any live bait available. We appreciated the drinks and fruit. Overall, however, a beautiful view and beautiful boat ride and experience. Costa Rican waters will always remain breathtaking. I did just want to point out the minor inconveniences so that others are aware of what to expect so that they communicate their requests with Janet beforehand so you don’t face a similar predicament. I am sure she will more than meet your needs. Thank you!

Excellent experience! We got the best of both worlds with deep sea trolling, followed by some in-shore casting where the kids were able to hall in dozens of fish in short order. Was really impressed with the staff, from Janet the organizer, to the fishing crew that made the trip memorable for the family. As a bonus, the crew expertly cleaned our grouper and red snapper that we were able to enjoy over the next 2 dinners!

Had the best day deep sea fishing with Helber and Beto! So much fun and you can tell they really love what they do. Even though we had already caught a few and were on our way back, they would stop and troll if we were heading through a good spot. Great food and drinks on board as well, and while I don’t like raw fish, they made up some fresh tuna sushi for my Dad and husband. We also saw tons of dolphins and sea turtles which was a bonus. Would highly recommend!

Helber and his nephew know how to fish. We left the beach just after 7 am and headed West for tuna. Once we were offshore, he started seeing signs of fish and had the deckhand put out lines. After 15 minutes of searching ZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! Fish on ! We put my 16 year old daughter on that first fish. What a fight! Took about half an hour to land a 100 lb Big Eye tuna! They worked with her to get that fish on the boat following the fish, handling the line and eventually pulling that monster over the rail. They proceeded to find more fish until we had had enough of tuna and headed close to shore for some mahi action. Not to be disapointed, BAM! fish on! We hit a big bull on an XRap. Dan put the smack down on that fish and we were all tired. Lots of fish and a crew that worked hard to put us on those fish. They fed us well and supplied drinks of all sorts. Couldn't ask for more.

Visited Costa Rica for a holiday with my spouse and booked their three quarter day fishing trip. This is a great outfit, got me on the fish quickly and we were catching almost non stop. One of the best days of Dorado fishing I have had. Thank you to Janet for easy booking and to Vin for a great day fishing!
