💟 🥎🥎 🌸 Better late than never! Some of you may not know that I'm a breast cancer "survivor". I put that in quotes because, to be honest, it feels a little silly. I had the "mosquito bite" of breast cancer -- Stage 0 DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In-Situ). Basically the least scary form of the disease and most easily treatable. It was caught at an annual mammogram when I was only 43. I had a lumpectomy (thanks Dr. McFoxy) + radiation (30 rounds over 6 weeks) and was sent on my merry little way.
But it's still part of my history and I do have to take it seriously even though I don't want to.
Anyway...I usually get my mammogram in the Spring. But this year...I was dealing with other things. #RIPGaga
Anyway...finally got er done and we're still lookin good! 🙏🙌🤞
This is a reminder to women over 40 (and the people who love them) to get your mammograms! Under 40...STILL be vigilant and do monthly self exams please. I hear stories of young women being diagnosed in their 20s and 30s. 😢
