Mae Phikul was a wealthy, known as a "setthi" in Thai, she was around hundreds of years ago. Her remains(skull) was found by ARJAHN SONGYOT MAMUENG of Ayutthaya just over 20 years ago, while he was going through monkhood at Wat Chomket, a very small and humble temple.
Arjahn found out that the remains belonged to the Late Phikul(Pikun). And addressed her as MOTHER PIKUN or commonly, MAE PHIKUL.
The short version of this history is that, LUANG PHI LIANG THERAWARO, a buddy and wizardry disciple of Arjahn Songyot asked to keep the remains of Mae Phikul for bucha-puja(worship).
Ever since the handover, Mae Phikul's presence was felt or even seen in the temple grounds.
In various ways, she helped people with money, income, what we call "windfall"...
There was no shrine/image of her ever.
An expert in the amulet trade once decided to seek Mae's blessings and released the KHUN PAEN MAE PHIKUL 1st Batch of amulets in BE2558(2015) for the purpose of expanding the temple, and that release was one of the most successful batch of amulets made in history. The temple fetched over 4 Million Baht and that was when The Main Shrine of Mae Phikul was built in her honour.
Today, Mae Phikul's blessings go all over the world. She is loved and worshipped internationally and has never stopped her good work.
