This was one of our largest deck refinishing projects. It covered a total of 3,500 square feet. The deck was originally built to surround a pool with upper and lower areas with a kitchen area and walkways to bring someone from the house to the lower back yard. The pool was moved to the outer border of the deck and was filled in with decking boards were it used to be set in the middle of the lower deck. The deck had new wood and older wood which was showing signs of splitting leaving gaps up to an eighth inch which causes splintering. So we cleaned it by pressure washing it, sanded the entire deck floor and hand rail and applied a different coating than a solid stain. We used a Sherwin Williams product called Superdeck Elastomeric Coating. This particular coating looks like a solid stain not taking away from the natural look of the wood but also fills in larger splits in the wood locking down and further splitting from sun damage. You can see from the cover photo of the project the product looks great and also brings out the natural nature of the woods look
