We had such a great experience! Ray gave us a warm welcome, and Laura and Hannah were so gentle and professional with my cat. Dr. Rojman Khomayezi was excellent — he explained everything clearly and made sure we felt comfortable. Highly recommend!

Russell Lake is always a pleasure to deal with. Their staff are always caring and kind and mindful of limited budgets while still providing options for care. They consistently check in via text messages between appointments and were very helpful in creating a plan for my reactive dog to ensure he is taken care of and not stressed out. Can’t recommend them enough!

Absolutely my favourite veterinarian clinic. Such amazing staff, always available and helpful, kind, considerate, and understanding. Most importantly, HONEST! Cannot recommend this location enough. So blessed we were able to be taken on as a patient. Our dog has the best healthcare in Nova Scotia!!

Had an amazing experience here with my large female German shepherd. Although I love my girl, she’s quite restless and chaotic at the vet. She unfortunately has a lot of allergies and was in a lot of discomfort and pain with an infected allergy flare up on her paw which caused her to be quite stressed for her first appointment we had yesterday. Dr. Khomayezi and our vet tech Jenn were so calm and comfortable around our Lucy. It’s not lost on me that a stressed german shepherd is intimidating, and although we’ve never had aggression issues I’m still aware of how she’s often perceived (and like fair enough!!!) - but they handled her so gently and confidently, and let me do some of the more annoying tasks like ear swabs which made the process go so smoothly for them, me, and Lucy the dog. The staff also updated me on the price of appointment over the phone before I booked, and updated me on pricing for additional tests as the appointment went on which was very appreciated. We just moved back home to Dartmouth and I’m so so pleased to have been taken on at this practice!

Russell Lake is not our usual vet but they were able to fit us in same-day when we had a sick kitty. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We truly appreciated the time that was spent getting to know our girl’s complicated medical history and all of the valuable advice given. We also like the online booking and text communication.

We have a five year old Golden Doodle who has been cared for by the staff at Russel Lake Animal Hospital since she was brought to our home at 8 weeks. The staff are great, always welcoming and very professional. They go to great efforts to explain what is happening with Cleo and what they will do to solve the issue. We get friendly reminders when Cleo is up for vaccinations, her tick medicines etc. We have had two urgent situations where the clinic was able to book an appointment quickly. The facility itself is always clean and well equipped to handle Cleo’s needs. Our only negative comment is that the services are quiet costly. But because we are happy with Russell Lake we haven’t even compared costs with other clinics. Maybe costs are comparable throughout the city. Thanks to the staff!

I can’t say enough good things about Natasha! From the moment we walked in, she was warm, professional, and incredibly caring. She treated my pet like her own, gentle, patient, and thorough. Natasha took the time to answer all my questions and made sure both of us felt at ease throughout the visit. It’s clear she genuinely loves what she does, and it shows in the way she connects with animals and their owners. Thank you, Natasha, for making a stressful day so much easier. You’re a true gem! 🐾

Took our young cat there today, they were easy going, very professional, got us in quickly and didn't charge us in the end, after dealing with a non serious issue. Relieved to have found a place open on the weekend and that we are happy to take our house-panther to.

For the second time I called my vet when my dog was in distress. And for the second time the staff dismissed my concerns with the excuse they were too busy to see him. Also they did not offer an alternative. I will never bring my dog back to Russell lake animal hospital. He has been there for 6 years when they first opened. But now it appears they are too busy for proper care. I am extremely disappointed in how the Russell lake animal clinic has changed. It's truly a shame

After a $2,500 surgery, my dog’s incision opened within three days. I requested an in person post op exam, but the clinic declined to see him. Instead, they told me to send a photo and offered generic advice. They never examined the wound in person despite a clear post surgical complication. I felt unsupported in managing a serious issue that required hands on assessment
