Called Friday night, because it always happens after traditional hours or on a weekend right! Appt booked for first thing Monday morning. That said, I asked for someone to call me to advise if an emergency and to ensure there was no risk of fire or gas leak etc due to issue with our gas powered hot water heater/tank. Sacha, the owner was kind enough to call me back Friday night during his family time to reassure me we were safe and would be okay until our Monday appt. He explained how the system works and if we were concerned about it, leaving the exhaust vent blower unplugged would be fine.
Come Monday, Sacha arrived 9am (within the 8am to 12pm window). He came into the home and went and inspected the exhaust blower, started to troubleshoot the issue. During that time, his technician Ryan arrived a short time later. They worked together to determine the issue and what was required to repair. Sacha and Ryan both sat and explained everything to me. The fan inside the blower was breaking away. Due to the age of the tank (installed in 2006 in a new build), the blower or its parts were discontinued. Also in order to be compliant with current codes there was also new venting required. Sacha sourced a new universal until and cost for me. Due to the age of the tank I didn’t see the merit in spending that amount if the unit was at risk of failing in the near future and asked about full replacement options. Sacha provided quotes on both replacing the tank I had with the same set up, and a tankless option. He explained the pros of the tankless to me as that has been an option I thought of for some time. Decided on the tankless option, which comes with a 10 year warranty. The initial cost was more and I asked about financing the replacement. Royalty works with a finance company that made this much more hassle and stress free and affordable to get this needed work done . I applied and was approved almost immediately. Once decided Sacha headed out to get the tankless unit and all components and materials needed for the installation that day (Monday). Ryan headed out to grab materials he needed to mount the unit, fittings and pipes as he was going to do the installation. Ryan worked until after 8 pm completing installation, testing the unit to ensure all was up and running properly, cleaning up his tools, garbage , removal of old tank and materials and leaving the space clean. He then explained to my husband and I how the unit works, what to watch for if an issue and to ensure we contact Royalty immediately for any reason should we notice anything or have further questions. He stated he’d be back today to finish up a few items that did not affect function of the unit or our use of it. Ryan returned today (Tuesday) to install a valve and finish adding piping outside to parascope the pipes with elbows. Again, he explained what he was doing with detail and why. Completed his remaining tasks fairly quickly and was very kind advising should we have any questions or concerns to reach out to Royalty and ask for him so he can get us taken care of.
Observing Sacha and Ryan working together it was very apparent to me that Sacha and Ryan have a very respectful working relationship and operate in a way that demonstrates a strong value in the way they view their customers. Royalty as a company, with Sacha leading by example is a very service and customer satisfaction oriented business. Ryan as part of their technician team only serves to uphold this high standard for customer service. I will definitely call upon Ryan in the future if needed, and will provide a great recommendation to anyone looking for a plumber!
Job well done guys!
