Royal Hardwood Refinishing and Home Renovation

We used Royal Hardwood Refinishing to redo the floors in our entire first floor. They also replaced all baseboards and trim. They also redid our powder room and it is beautiful. Moe and his team did a fantastic job!! They were fast and very professional and we will be using him again for any renovations to our home. I highly recommend Royal Hardwood for any projects!!

Royal Hardwood did a fantastic job in transforming our 1990s home’s flooring and stairs from a dated yellowy oak into a modern and airy whitewash and piano style stairs. From start to finish it was so easy to work with Julia and Moe, you can tell they really care about their customers and the quality of the work they do. Good value for money and very transparent with pricing and scope of work. I would recommend them to anyone!

Moe and his team did the most amazing job for us. We had an extremely tight timeline for redoing our floors and railings and he managed to get the job done on time, with amazing attention to detail and at a great price. His team was friendly and highly skilled. Moe and the office were great communicators and project managers. They also left the place spotless which was greatly appreciated. My wife and I were on a tight schedule for moving out of our old house and moving to the new place. In addition our kid was starting a new daycare so it was critical to have the renovations at the new place done on time and within budget! Initially we were nervous about proceeding with the renovations due to all the things that can go wrong with these projects and our very tight schedule. Royal Hardwood Refinishing was able to meet our tight timeline of 5 weeks for the full reno; and the company consists of full time employees, which means greater reliability in work performance and consistency. We were happy with our decision. Julia and Moe completed the renovation on schedule. They renovated 4 bathrooms, refinished wood floors, replaced tiles, painted the walls and doors, and removed the popcorn ceiling. After the job completion date, they returned to do a final touchup and clean. Throughout they were responsive, hard working, and personable. The house looks completely different and beautiful, and it wouldn't have been possible without Royal Hardwood Refinishing! We also feel relieved that they stand behind their work and offer a 1 year warranty on their work (in case things go wrong). I would easily recommend them for complex renovation projects!

Highly recommend this company. After reading reviews and contacting several companies, I am extremely happy we went with Royal Hardwood Refinishing. The finished product made my worn floors look brand new. Prompt responses from Julia regarding scheduling and invoice. Pricing was fair and no hidden cost. They replaced the old baseboards in two rooms to match the other rooms (extra cost). Moe and his crew were extremely efficient and did fantastic work. Everything was done to schedule and they worked on the weekend to finish the project. You won't be disappointed!

My wife and I had the pleasure of working with RHR to refinish our home's original hardwood floors (which was covered with carpet for decades) to be restored and beautified to an amazing ebony-stained oak. The floors were in incredibly rough shape beforehand - scratches, paint-markings, gouges and all - but RHR was able to get rid of all the mess and cleaned the floors up perfectly! Our project manager Moe and his team went above and beyond to maintain the character of the floors while restoring it to being completely unblemished and stunning. The owner Julia K is a wonderful person to work with and she is responsive, helpful and kind. She communicates very clearly and is so prompt with responding to questions, and clarified everything for us from the start of the project to the end. We are both happy with the results and will be considering RHR in the future for some new luxury vinyl floors in the main foyer and living room.

Is a rating of more than 5 stars possible? From the very first visit to review what we envisioned and throughout the entire process, this was the project that seemed to achieve the unachievable (home renovations that were high quality, with detailed workmanship, professionalism and all within budget!) Working with RHR made the process that others have told us they dreaded absolutely seamless! The communication with Julia was always timely and professional with the ultimate goal of getting the job done at the best price possible. We cannot thank Moe enough for his dedication to the project. He is not only extremely professional, punctual and hard working – he cares about the final outcome. He was always present with his team to make sure the job was going well, was first to communicate any issue and always had a solution or suggestion to rectify any situation. The overall experience with RHR was seamless and the outcome was incredible! We are already looking at what RHR can help us with next. The scope of work we did was: Removing old and installing new tiles (2 levels and bathrooms), sanding and staining existing hardwood floors, removing and installing new stairs (2 levels) installing wrought iron railings on the staircase (2 levels), removing popcorn ceilings and painting (3 levels).

I just recently bought my first home and wanted to refinish my hardwood floors as the previous owner had a dog that scratched up them up. I called numerous places and some turned me down citing that my floors were maple, based on the photos, and refused to work on them. The contractor who did my floors was punctual, attentive, and accommodating. He described every step of the process so I knew what he was working on each day and made me feel 100% comfortable with all the choices I had to make (i.e., water or oil-based varnish). I really appreciated this as a new home owner who is going through the process for the first time. I couldn't recommend Royal Hardwood Refinishing enough. Then job consisted of renovated all of my bathrooms, bedrooms, stairs, hallways, kitchen, etc. The team was very willing to help answer all my questions and guide me through the entire process. Moreover, they made sure I agreed on each step before proceeding. In terms of the work, the team was very professional. They were always on time and worked very efficiently to ensure the job was completed on time. They even worked Saturday and Sunday!
