Growing up, I learned that certain kinds of tigers are wonderful things because their bottoms are made out of springs. I have a hunch this is why I was so fascinated with springtails when I found out about them.
These tiny creatures are able to bounce incredibly high for their body size. They achieve this with a tail that acts like a spring off the back of their body. It folds under them and they can use it to spring straight up into the air.
This site can be quite unsettling. This is especially true because when they find a solid source of decaying organic matter, they can reproduce quite rapidly. Hundreds to thousands of bouncing little pests is the last thing you want to stumble across.
In most situations eliminating the water source will be adequate for springtail control. If they persist, Rove Pest Control has the tools to help. Springtails come in a variety of species and can feed on a variety of food sources that may complicate control measures. This is especially true in inaccessible voids.
