I often hear the debate about whether or not spiders are friend or foe. To be honest, my answer is quite different if I am in the professional space or hanging out with my kids.
When I am with my kids, I want them to be curious about nature and learn about what is running around their otherwise narrow scope worlds. Along with this, I don’t want their initial reaction to something like a spider running across the floor to be negative. Mostly, I don’t want to have to run and remove any arachnid or insect that crosses their paths. So when it comes to my offspring, seeing spiders is framed as a good thing.
From a professional standpoint, my answer is always, “it depends.” It depends on what kind of spider you are seeing where. The reality is that if spiders are hanging around your living or working space, something needs addressed. This might be an underlying water issue, lighting issue, or some other environmental factor that is providing meals of arthropods in plenty to the observed arachnid.
So the bottom line is if you are seeing a spider, find out why. If you don’t want to start researching spiders, just reach out to the spider experts at Rove Pest Control.
