Why we are glad that roaches eat their vomit
Roaches will eat just about anything. They are happy to nibble on the crumbs that fall between the stove and fridge. Interestingly, cockroaches are just as happy to eat the paste off the back of the wallpaper that is peeling off the wall. In between those two seemingly disconnected nutrition points, lies their own vomit. Yup! Roaches are willing to chow down on each others vomit. If you are like my family, this little factoid inspires more of a gag reflex than a laughter queue.
The good news for our cockroach control crew at Rove Pest Control is that this can help facilitate control of roaches. When a roach enjoys a short meal on one of our delicious (to a roach of course…not a human) cockroach baits and slips back into a wall void to have a bit of a puke fest, other roaches in the area will eat it as well. This helps the active ingredient spread through the whole roach population much quicker.
