How long are bed bugs feeding on our blood?
I’m constantly amazed at how long it takes for my kids to eat their food when it is something new or something less than their favorite. When they are eating new foods they are like ticks. They just sit there and slowly feed. It seems as though they are waiting for the calendar to flip to the next day or even month.
When it comes to dessert, I have learned that I have to give them small portions at a time. They are like little multi-feed mosquitoes that lust suck their plate dry and have moved on before I have a chance to realize what happened.
What about bed bugs though? Are they long feeders like ticks or quick feeders like mosquitoes. Bed bugs are the middle ground but much closer to mosquitoes than multi-month feeding ticks. Bed bugs will feed on a host for 3 to 12 minutes. This is why they are so keen to hunt us down where we are resting for long periods of time.
Removing bed bugs from structures can be tricky and they are constantly developing resistances to pesticides. Reach out to the biting insect specialists at Rove Pest Control for the peace you need for a sound night’s sleep.
