The holiday travel season is approaching, and whether you are staying in a hotel, own one, or manage one, there are a few pest control tips you should know to keep you or your guests safe from pests. Don’t let uninvited guests ruin your stay! Rove has the tips you need to keep your travel spaces pest-free and safe.
When staying in a hotel, watch for pests like bed bugs, rodents, roaches, and fleas. Bed bugs, the most common, can hide in beds, furniture, luggage, and more. Look for warning signs like black specs, shed skins, blood spots, or the bugs themselves. Check box springs, seams, and creases in bedding and furniture. Bed bugs hide during the day but emerge when they sense heat and carbon dioxide.
Fleas can come from pets, even in pet-free hotels where animals are sometimes snuck in. Fleas spread quickly, so if you encounter them, leave, shower, and wash clothes and luggage on high heat.
Rodents leave droppings as signs of their presence, while roaches prefer warm, humid spots like bathrooms. Check for them under sinks and near water sources.
While most hotels manage pests well, early detection helps prevent infestations. Rove Pest Control offers training to help hotel staff spot pests early, saving costs and protecting guests. Prevention is the best defense!
