When we think about ticks, we typically think about fall hikes or spring clean up exposing us and our loved ones to these unfortunate creatures. So what made me think about tick’s while snow is piling up across the northern half of the country? Mice and rabbits. Of course there are others, but these were what started the tick thoughts turning.
It may seem odd, but these little mammals bouncing around our yards and homes can deliver unwanted invaders to us. Ticks are long-term feeders unlike mosquitoes and could fall off in search of a new host even in the dead of winter. These ticks could find their way directly into our dwellings or catch a ride on a pet.
It is certain that our exposure is much lower in the winter, but it is still a great idea to constantly have a tick defense in place. We would much rather focus on holiday fun and treats than worry about being a blood treat for a tick, so have the Tick Crew at Rove Pest Control maintain your defenses against these and other annoying health threats.
