🚛 A Day in the Life of a Drain Cleaning Pro: What Really Happens
When people think of drain cleaning, they picture a plunger or a messy basement. But for those of us who live it, it’s a whole lot more than clearing a clog. It’s problem-solving, relationship-building, and sometimes... wildlife wrangling. Here's what happens during a day in the life of a drain cleaning professional.
☕ 5:45 AM – Our day starts before the coffee is even cool. I check in at my office to asses the work for every kind of situation. Scheduling and prioritizing.
🚦 6:00 AM – At the shop to check all equipment and the truck. Everything needs to be safe and ready to go.
6:30 AM - A basement sink is bubbling like a witches’ cauldron. After some diagnostics, we discovered decades-old grease buildup. We walk the customer through what happened, fix the issue, and leave them with a tip sheet.
🐾 11:00 AM – Next up, rodents have turned a broken cleanout into a condo. It’s not glamorous, but it’s satisfying to restore order and teach the customer how to keep future critters out. We’re more than cleaners; we’re mini-environmentalists.
🍔 1:00 PM – Lunch Break you know the very quick kind....
💬 2:30 PM – A daycare center’s bathroom line is down during nap time. Tensions are high. I reassure the staff, fix the clogged line.
🌇 5:30 PM – Wrapping up and winding down, time to review tomorrow’s schedule and return calls to customers. Every day is a mix of the unexpected, and that’s what keeps it exciting.
