Water pressure regulation systems protect a home's plumbing by reducing incoming municipal pressure to safe levels, typically between 50-70 PSI, preventing strain on fixtures, appliances, and pipes. Our Riley technicians checked out the main water supply system at this Kirkwood property and identified the need for proper pressure control to safeguard the existing infrastructure. The inspection showed that installing a new pressure reducing valve would prevent potential damage to the recently installed Moen Flo valve and downstream components. We shut down and drained the system, then disassembled the main piping above the slab to create access points. The team mounted heavy-duty unistrut brackets to the wall for solid support, then installed a 1-inch PRV valve with ProPress and L copper connections linking the main supply to the PRV and continuing to the Moen Flo system. A boiler drain was added before the PRV to allow future pressure testing.
