Travelled from Laval to check out this Vietnamese place in Griffintown area of Montreal.
There was a small lineup outside, but the wait was not long.
The place is a small cozy restaurant, with friendly staff..
The menus given to us were small paper takeout type menus, wish the menu was a bit bigger, hard for old folks like me to read the small print.
We ordered a Veggie Birds nest, A beef poke bowl, a beef Pho , some crispy spring rolls and a Vietnamese coffee.
The food came out surprisingly quickly, faster than a McDonald's order , seriously I've waited longer at a McDonalds just to get an ice cream, and this restaurant brought out meals for the 3 of us in what seemed like 2 minutes. I don't know how they do it, but we were impressed by that.
The quality of the food was quite good, but nothing that was overly different from other Vietnamese places.
Portions were good, presentation was nice and it all tasted fine, but nothing that would really make me want to come back again, unless I'm in the area.
I can see this restaurant doing well with the locals who live in Griffintown, but nothing so special that I would come back again from Laval.
Give it a try , what do you think?
