Teeth are composed of various parts and layers, but there are three main ones that you should know about:
First is the enamel. This is the hard outer part of your pearly whites ;)
Underneath the enamel is another layer called dentin. When your enamel wears down, it exposes the dentin. This can cause extreme sensitivity to cold and hot temperatures.
Within the tooth itself is a softer material called pulp. Pulp is made up of nerves and blood vessels.
