What is an Affidavit and why do I need one?
An affidavit is a written statement of facts about what you know, confirmed by an oath or affirmation. Affidavits are legal documents and are sworn before an officer having the authority to administer oaths or affirmations such as a notary public or commissioner of oaths. The most important thing to remember about a sworn statement is that everything stated must be true. Affidavits are often used in court as part of legal proceedings but they can be used in numerous other situations as well. Affidavits of service, execution, identity, support, custody, and financial affidavits are just a few examples of why you may need one. Red Seal Notary can help you “swear” or "affirm" your affidavit.
