My husband and I used Ray’s last year when our air conditioning went out during a heatwave. While the service was expensive, the issue was resolved quickly and efficiently.
2 weeks ago our air conditioner went out again. It is admittedly an older unit and we wanted to get it fixed before it starts to get extremely hot. The technician that came out was extremely nice and seemed very knowledgeable. He spent about 5-10 minutes just looking at the unit. He never asked for us to turn on the unit to do a better diagnostic. To be honest, he barely touched it.
After having looked at it he said his recommendation would be to replace the entire unit and provided us with a quote for $12,095.00. When asked how much it would cost just to fix the parts that needed fixing he said to “attempt” to just fix it would costs upwards of $2,000.
Throughout our conversation he mentioned multiple times that he does not work on commission, however since his short visit we have received MULTIPLE txts, phone calls and emails asking if we had any “questions” regarding the repair of our unit.
Needless to say, we got a second opinion from an amazing place. They came to our home, asked us to explain the issue in detail, they turned the unit on and did a thorough diagnostic. Never once did they mention replacing the unit. We decided to use the new place and was able to get the parts that needed fixing fixed for $1,000.00
