Remember that old man winter is on his way! When ice forms it has to have somewhere to expand. If it is in your pipes it will simply just burst your pipe!
One way to prevent what happened in this picture is to take your hose off the faucet when not in use or something like this is bound to happen.
1 more tip... if you have any pipes that are exposed to the elements and need insulation, that is a pretty inexpensive option to avoid catastrophe like flooding your home
