We weren't sure what to order in the beginning, as everything sounded quite exotic. The staff was very helpful and patiwnt with us however, and so we were able to choose what sounded best to each of us. Digging in, we were positively surprised. The taste was really good. The Gyozas were lovely and diverse. (We chose 2 of each variant). The main course was also delicious. The Porter was cooked to the point we wanted, the duck breast soup was also really tasty. In the End we had some gin to finish the evening. All in all we had a great time. Happy that we stumbled across this place in this rather sleepy Town. Thank you to the the very capable and friendly staff and chefs =)

Some lovely flavours mixed among the modern Australian/Japanese. Japanese flavours in the oysters were excellent. Probably skip the deep fried one. Other dishes and dessert was also lovely, hood job Chef's. Decor including the wine cellar wall were nice additions. Customer service from first lady as we entered was nice. I would suggest a uniform, as both ladies were a little casual, bjt can understand this is in a small town. As visitors, it would have also been nice to see the fire place on, given the temperature outside. Above are just suggestions and not negative feedback 😊 All in all, a nice place for dining when visiting.

Great restaurant find in St. Helens! I’m usually not a fan of Japanese fusion but it was surprisingly good! Seafood were all fresh and the whole fish was delicious. The seafood soup had a nice spicy kick to it for the adults. I would recommended :)

On a two week trip around the entire of Tasmania this restaurant was by far the best. The food was absolutely amazing and Gordon the owner was a welcoming host. I highly recommend anyone passing the St Helens area to stop in and have one of the best meals you’ll have in Tasmania.

Wow, what a stunning Restaurant. Really enjoyed our Dinner. It’s great to see a place like this in a small town. The fit out was modern and comfortable with great attention to detail. The waiter was friendly, professional and helpful. The drinks and food menu was plentiful and seemed to be something for everyone. In this day and age, catering for the Dietary requirements of Veteraians, Vegans, Lactose free, etc is a given and will always add value and credibility to a Food business. The amenities were clean and Covid requirements easy and in line with current requirements. We will definitely be telling anyone heading this way. Thanks again and look forward to returning again soon. 🍴👏🏼 😃

We are usually very sceptical about Japanese fusion food but Raida met our expectations. Started with locally sourced (mostly) sashimi platter was fresh. Tuna tataki was generous in portion and flavoursome with good Japanese dressing. The very friendly lady recommended fish of the day: locally caught red snapper, grilled with miso paste smeared on one side. Its flesh was moist and not over cooked, with miso marinade adding subtle saltiness and sweetness. I would however suggest freshly cut (length way) shallots and needle ginger instead of the cooked ones. This should make the dish more appealing and complement freshness of the beautiful fish. Loved the food and service. The co-owner told us a reason for serving Japanese style cuisine in town and it all made sense to us. The Restaurant was very busy Tuesday night, which tells us a lot of why. Well done, Raida, and thank you for the lovely dining experience.

Once in a while, I discover a true gem. That’s when I wish I could have an extra star 🌟 to give!! Robin Island tomahawk wagyu was incredibly outstanding. If they have that on the menu, pls do yourself a favour and just order it!!! Cooked to perfection, umami crust and melt in your mouth tender juicy meat. OMG!!!! Mixed oysters (panko crumbed and tobiko oysters especially tasty) scrumptious. We had half roast chicken in master stock. I’m not a fan of chicken breast (often too dry) but this was juicy to the last breast:) Ask for the Alcorso Pinot Noir 2012! Thank you so very much guys. So special 🙏🙏🙏

I was so excited to eat at Raida’s becos of google reviews stating that “it’s one of the best in Tasmania” and there were 2 rly good reviews on Happy Cow for veg*n food. But I had a v disappointing experience 🫠🫠🫠 🍘 Agedashi Tofu - housemade dashi, shiitake mushrooms, daikon & herbs [AUD 25] The taste is decent, well fried with sweetish miso like broth. But not the portion? I was first served 3 pieces of tofu & 5 edamame beans for AUD 25. Upon checking, they missed out the shiitake mushrooms. Okay cool but I don’t think 3 pieces of tofu should be a main dish at AUD 25? It should be a side dish instead of in the main dish section so ppl won’t be misled. 🫠🫠🫠 The seasoned rice in the picture is a separate charge. It’s AUD 7 for a bowl of rice, the photo shows half a bowl … not filling at all. I’m not sure why the portion size is so little cause my non-veg friends had enjoyed their food and the portion size was decent. 🥹🥹🥹 Wouldn’t really recommend this place to vegetarians unless they increase the portion size. This is by far the most expensive meal I had in Tasmania, I wasn’t even this disappointed when I paid AUD 18 for broccolini in Strahan cause the portion were decent and it wasn’t a misleading menu.

Wonderful, fresh and flavour-filled Modern Japanese. Vegan, seafood, wagyu and more. The Coconut, Mango & Lychee dessert a perfect finish to a pleasant dining experience. Staff friendly and knowledgeable, decor uncluttered and relaxing. Fireplace was a pleasant addition to the atmosphere and from the outside chill.

A local recommendation which was a fabulous one! Freshest ingredients superbly presented and delicious. The okonomiyaki was superb with an option to add prawn and the sashimi plate with 2 large oysters was equally tasty. The ladies looking after the customers were personable and professional and represented the restaurant well. A definite recommend to travellers to St Helens.
