We had an excellent experience working with Fuzz to record a full length album at Radar Sounds Studio. This is a real hidden gem in London as it features both Digital and (ever increasingly scarce) Analogue Tape recording facilities at what we considered to be a very fair price. The studio itself is fully equipped to record using the latest in digital recording methods, but the real magic is the selection of vintage mics, amps, pedals and effects that are available to use on your recording. It’s a real Aladdin’s Cave of interesting gear and peculiar instruments to use alongside your rig to fashion your masterpiece. The Studio itself is constantly evolving, and it seemed as though every time we went there to record / mix there was new gear that we’d not seen before. Working with Fuzz as an engineer was a great experience, he’s really supportive of the whole process and enthusiastic about trying interesting ideas and exploring the unconventional. The workflow is well thought out and even the seemingly simplistic elements such as being able to control your own headphone mix when laying down a track was really helpful. All in all I’d highly recommend Radar Sounds. This would be of particular interest if you’re into vintage gear and analogue recording onto tape.

If you're looking to record onto tape using vintage analogue gear with someone who truly understands how it was done in the good old days, then look no further than Radar Sound. Fuzz is an exceptionally knowledgeable and sympathetic producer and engineer. A musician himself, he knows what makes the recording process tick for artists and, in my case at any rate, he has been able to help me realise the vision I had in my head for how I wanted my songs to sound. I have been absolutely blown away by the experience and all at an extremely reasonable cost. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and his brilliant studio.

Before I found Fuzz, I was pretty certain that our project was over after we hit rock bottom. Our original mixing and master engineers had not worked out after a year of trying and wasted funds. So it was impossible to hide my despair. Fuzz was immediately sympathetic to my predicament. Although his experiences had not been the same, he understood them in essence. And crucially, he realized that I was on the brink of giving up, and that his ‘job spec’ began with bringing me back from the edge! This was Christmas 2020. And we began working from scratch on our beloved album in 2021. We had recorded our whole album on 1 inch analogue tape in our own studio. This meant we required a mixing facility that could handle the music in both the analogue and digital domains. Radar Sounds covered both bases - and the rest! The combined old school resources of Fuzz and my husband/bass player/producer Peter was a sight to behold. It was a masterclass for me in accumulated information and knowledge when people get together who really know their tech. And of course, being old school musicians, our music had found the engineer it deserved. Because of the sheer weight of music and what was required to mix it all efficiently, there were times when the ‘slog’ of it got tough for me. This was particularly prevalent in the last month. Fuzz doesn’t say a lot, but when he does speak, it is usually worth listening to. It was then that he gave me one of his pep talks on the need to stay focused and ‘finish the work’. It worked like a charm, and I ran the last day’s session from 10am - 6pm like a military operation! We were delighted that we completed the mixing within our time frame. But more delighted when we heard the result after Fuzz sprinkled his mastering ‘fairy dust’ over the completed mixes. What a transformation - and worth the pain, the heartache and the slog! Always gratitude, Fuzz, and never to be forgotten. Looking forward to continued meaningful musical work with you in the future. We wish you every success with Radar Sounds - you deserve it!
