I first called PuroClean and was assisted by "James in Eastern Washington", who immediately put a message out to Gregory Arianoff as an ASAP to PuroClean of the Big Island. Gregory called me within 5 minutes of receiving the message and arranged to meet me at the property the very next day for a "walk-through" and estimate. Gregory and his technician arrived when they said they would; were totally professional in appearance and manner; examined and measured the damaged property; patiently answered my questions; and were very sensitive to the hazardous nature of the job and the reason behind why the house had fallen into such a state of neglect. Gregory emailed the measurements; details of the manpower, materials, and equipment that would be needed; and the total estimate of the biohazard cleaning project to me within 48 hours.
The house belongs to a relative currently recuperating from surgery in the VA Hospital, who had served in Vietnam and the Coast Guard, as well as having been born and raised on the Big Island. He could not return to his home in its present state. Gregory and his wonderful technicians understood the need to thoroughly clean the home, and approached the (overwhelming) project of separating the accumulation of biohazard material with care to put important paperwork, personal photos, medals and commendations, and any objects they deemed might be of sentimental, inherited, cherished, or downright valuable aside in a cleaned "staging area" for the owner upon his return. Their compassion and understanding of the situation brought me to tears. Unfortunately, some items were too compromised to be salvaged, but the team was also very sensitive to the loss, and looked carefully for specifically requested items the owner had put away and were buried beneath years of grief and neglect.
PuroClean of the Big Island impressed me every day with their work ethic, their professionalism, and their "universal precautions" in dealing with this important project. There was always communication about which area would be dealt with on what day, so specific items that were "tagged" as being a family heirlooms of importance to the family could be moved and relocated out of the way of the crew and stored at a secure location until after the clearing.
Gregory and his technicians even spent time calming the old, blind, deaf dog until I could bring him to my house to cause less stress to the dog and more room for the crew. That was really "above and beyond", and warmed my heart that they would take the time to not just ignore the old dog's confusion, but to comfort him during this perplexing transition.
The professional cleaning job...treating mold, water damage, and using antimicrobials on the mostly cleared house was very impressive. It looked like a clean, livable, safe place for my brother-in-law to return to. There are still some renovations to be made to assist my brother-in-law with his disabilities upon his return, but Gregory Arianoff and his patient, caring, compassionate, wonderful team at PuroClean of the Big Island have made that all possible.
They are ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PEOPLE and I am so grateful that they were there for me, and are there for others that find themselves in the same, overwhelming, and sad situation. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for cleaning services.
Mahalo PuroClean of the Big Island!!
