Supporting Survivors: Breast Cancer Recovery Programs
In India, programs for the recovery of breast cancer patients are aimed at aiding and abetting the survivors through numerous efforts. Surgery facilities have been extended to include support groups that patients attend to share first-hand experiences and receive proper guidance from people who have survived the medical condition. For instance, Indian NGOs such as “Hitaishini" help in raising awareness, educate the public, and provide emotional and psychological care to breast cancer survivors. In addition, these programs include rehabilitation, work training, and general treatment to improve the survivors' lives after being treated, thus practicing an all-rounded approach to recovery.
