Difference Between Pancreatitis and Pancreatic Cancer
Pancreatitis is an inflammation of the pancreas which can be caused by the presence of gallstones, alcohol abuse and it manifests itself by abdominal pain and gastrointestinal disturbances. On the contrary, pancreatic cancer is characterized by the growth of malignant cells, and they do not cause symptoms until late progression, which makes the condition cause weight loss and yellowing of the skin. It is important that the condition should be detected early since the two conditions have very different treatment options.
