Figo Staging Of Endometrial Cancer
The FIGO staging system defines endometrial cancer according to tumor progression and spread throughout the body. The disease remains limited to the uterus during Stage 1, whereas Stage 2 shows tumor spread into the cervical area. The regional spread of endometrial cancer occurs at Stage 3 and includes three subsections (3A, 3B, 3C) describing tissue involvement in the peritoneum and vagina and lymphatic areas. Stage 4 cancer exists in its advanced form, and stage 4B shows that the cancer has spread to distant areas of the body. Accurate staging analysis allows healthcare providers to determine how long patients will survive and the most effective treatments.
