Can Cervical Cancer Cause Bladder Cancer?
Primary cervical cancer due to persistent infection by high-risk HPV strains may lead to secondary cancer like bladder cancer. HPV-induced oncogenic pathways can create genetic mutations and trigger tumorigenesis in the neighboring tissues. Moreover, smoking and immunosuppression can enhance the likelihood of contracting multiple forms of cancer, hence regular screening and constant monitoring are necessary for those with history of cervical neoplasia.
