Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer - Small Spots, Big Risks
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) along with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) compose the two main types of non-melanoma skin cancer which present as minor long-lasting skin marks. The tumors originating from non-melanoma cancers do not advance with the same intensity as melanoma but can still cause severe tissue destruction if medical treatment is not provided. Several conditions of skin color, solar illumination, and recurrent sunburns put individuals at risk for developing this cancer. Early discovery and proper preventive treatment of skin malignancies are essential for complication prevention and successful disease management.
