I have had a boatload of issues that Amanda Arendt of PRx Physical Therapy in Lake Bluff has helped me navigate. I’ve had a few PT’s before, but Amanda is different. She has worked in conjunction with my deep tissue massage therapist and their positive and unique approach has made wonders. She has worked on my shoulder, neck, head, hip, leg, and foot pain.
Amanda is compassionate, perceptive, understanding, friendly, personal, and kind. Amanda has done a lot of dryneedling on me as in general I have uncooperative muscles. It has made a difference to help me through my pain. If I now see her with a headache…9 times out of 10 she can get rid of it, especially after the healing process takes place. She has also made several suggestions of things I can do on my own to help myself.
Amanda asks, listens, and walks you through sessions guiding you step by step. Amanda is perceptive. When she thought I needed the opinion of another medical professional she encouraged me and had some recommendations. Yet, she was unlike many. She didn’t just send me off, she kept working with me and checking in to see how I was doing. This was so unlike other PT’s I’ve had. It helped me to feel I wasn’t alone in this venture, but very supportive. This has happened over and over as I’ve seen other doctors.
Last week as I was waiting to go in another patient was leaving. She told me that Amanda is amazing and had made a difference for her. She told me that compared to a local PT clinic there was no comparison in the treatment and success she had. I’ve heard this from other patients as well. Often other PT’s spend the session talking with other PT’s. This is not the case with Amanda. She spends her time one-on-one the entire time.
While waiting for my session, I’ve seen the progress of some of her surgery patients when they are leaving. It is amazing what she can do to help various individuals. It is impressive.
I’m still in the recovery process. For me she mostly does dry needling (not painful), she has also done cupping and scraping. We started with my scalene. Then we worked on my trapezius, back, neck shoulder muscles, gluts, Illiacus, etc., etc., etc. We’ve touched on so many. The recent connection has been my trap connecting to the suboccipitals and occipitals with the intercostals lining up for their turn. Amanda has helped me with many self help devices to use at home when I can’t have Amanda. PRx Physical Therapy…is helping to improve my daily performance and recovery. I can now load and unload my dishwasher…and even vacuum and dust sometimes. Various other tasks are easier unless I’m in pain and need to see Amanda again.
Without a doubt, I would highly suggest the care Amazing Amanda gives. If anyone has any questions about dry needling or the care Amanda gives I’d be happy to talk with them. She is definitely worth your time and money.
