Providence Dermatology-Dr. Travis James

Dr. Travis James at Providence Dermatology is exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the office felt warm and welcoming, and the wait time was minimal. Dr. James took the time to listen carefully to all of our concerns and provided a very thorough exam. His staff was friendly, professional, and attentive throughout the visit. We live out of state, and the 2.5-hour drive is absolutely worth it to receive this level of care. We would highly recommend Dr. James and his team.

One of my kids got a bad gash through her eyebrow at school and needed stitches. I was trying to avoid instacare and the ER and one of my friends recommended Providence Dermatology. They were able to sneak me in right then. Dr James was so amazing with my daughter and made it such an easy experience! We’ll definitely be back!

I would not personally recommend Providence Dermatology. I had a cyst removed here and it did not go well. They made a large incision right above my waist and put stitches in that were incredibly painful. I followed their directions to a T. When I went back in after 10 days I felt that they would probably tell me that it was infected and I would need to leave the stitches in or get steri strips. Instead I was told it was fine and they slapped a bandaid on it. By 6pm I had a gaping hole on my waist that looked horrible. I decided to be safe rather than sorry and went to the insta care. The insta care doctor said it was definitely infected and that the stitches either should not have been removed or I should have gotten steri strips. After the incident the dermatologist got back to me and stuck with his views that it wasn’t infected which was fine, but left me feeling like it was somehow my fault that my body wasn’t healing. I originally said that I would not give it a 1 star experience because the nurses were so nice and made sure to help me the best they could and everyone was quite nice at my appointments including the dermatologist, but it has been a month since my surgery and it still has not healed. I’m left with a much larger scar than the size of my cyst and a $195 bill to pay as well as a bill from the insta care on its way. It’s just frustrating and I want to give anyone looking on google a heads up if they are like me and were looking for a dermatologist.

My daughter was in need of stitches and has been so scared to visit the hospital after a few traumatizing incidents. Dr. James and his staff gave my daughter the absolute royal treatment. I felt like we had the red carpet rolled out for us. I have never seen her so relaxed in a doctor’s setting before. They are incredible with kids, so kind and calm, and engaging. We were in and out quicker than I could imagine. His attention to detail and calming presence was the perfect combination for a successful visit. We are so grateful for Dr. James and his outstanding staff.

My experience with Dr. James was nothing short of exceptional. I had the opportunity to interact with him on a couple separate occasions, and each encounter impressed me more and more. He is professional, personable, and extremely knowledgeable about all things dermatology and beyond. Moreover, he is both an excellent listener and teacher. He never left a visit without asking multiple times “any more questions?” in a welcoming and non-judgmental manner. He took the time to make me feel heard, and did an excellent job explaining things in a way I could understand. I also felt very reassured by each of his answers to my questions and have come to thoroughly trust his expertise. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough — both my wife and I have seen him and would strongly encourage anyone seeking dermatology insight to seek him out! In our opinion, he’s by far the best in cache valley!

We had a wonderful experience at this dermatology office when my son needed stitches. Dr. James and Mandy were exceptional—compassionate, professional, and incredibly patient. My son was understandably anxious, but they immediately put him at ease with their calming demeanor and the relaxed, welcoming environment of the office. The option of using laughing gas helped him stay calm, and thanks to effective numbing, he didn’t feel any pain during the procedure. His recovery has been smooth, and he left with such a positive impression of the entire experience. We are truly grateful and would recommend this team without hesitation.
