After consulting with Professor Frampton at Guildford's Nuffield, he arranged an MRI & other tests concerning intermittent pain & discomfort within my rib cage. Results confirmed a large cyst under tension in my liver which I was anxious should not continue growing (from my past medical experiences) to the point of painfully rupturing. He explained the preferable option of dealing with it was a 'de-roofing' via robotic surgery due to its position etc, with which I agreed. This was available up at The Cromwell, where he very skilfully used a Robot to navigate past important internal structures, excess fat, & through adhesions from previous operations I've had. This resulted in minimal operative consequence to my abdomen, & to me post-operatively - meaning I awoke from the general anaesthetic without the significant pain I recall from several past 'open surgery' type operations. Professor Frampton came to see me before the operation and ask me if I had any questions etc, & afterwards to see how I was feeling & let me know how the operation had gone. I was only in that hospital for 48hrs & left with just a little discomfort (from bumps in the road on the journey home), and five small glue-covered external incisions from the Robot's arms across the front of my waistline. They healed quickly & my only instructions were No Lifting for first 6wks, and to take Paracetamol & occasionally DHCodeine for some understandable right-sided abdominal tenderness. That steadily tailed off along with v.mild discomfort when hicupping/sneezing, as I healed internally whilst taking things easily (& light exercise) at home over next 12-14 days. Professor Frampton has rung me since with the histology results (benign as thought, thankfully). He has also arranged for me to have a 3month Follow Up MRI with Contrast, to see how things are looking with the Cyst's site etc. I was anxious about having this operation, particularly 77, but it transpired to be an amazingly positive experience for which I cannot thank & recommend Professor Frampton highly enough - not only for his surgical & Robotic expertise, but also his conscientious & professional assessment of my health pre & post surgery, his reassuring explanations & his most pleasant communication personally throughout (administratively coordinated by his excellent PA)!conscientious & professional assessment of my health pre & post surgery, his reassuring explanations & his most pleasant communication personally throughout (administratively coordinated by his excellent PA based at Guildford's Nuffield).t

I recently underwent a hernia operation at Guildford Nuffield Hospital. Prof. Frampton provided an excellent initial consultation at which he clearly and comprehensively set out the options for treatment. He identified the potential benefits and risks so that I could make an informed decision. No operation is a pleasure, but Prof Frampton provided admirable support throughout, both immediately before and after the procedure, and at the post-operative review; he inspired confidence throughout the entire procedure thus reducing anxiety to an absolute minimum.

Review by Nigel Adams re: his inguinal hernia operation by Prof. Adam Frampton; Adam's friendly and informative manner made the whole pre-op and post-op process a relaxed experience making my decision to proceed an easy one. The procedure went smoothly and I have remained pain free since. I am extremely happy with the result. I must add that the hospital staff and Adam's team were both helpful and friendly also.

As an 82-year-old man, facing my first ever general surgery for a troublesome gallbladder, I researched experienced and specialist surgeons able to carry out the removal of my gallbladder, and Professor Adam Frampton was at the top of my short list. During my initial consultation and examination, Professor Frampton found that I also had a minor umbilical hernia, which he repaired at the same time as removing my gallbladder. I underwent the keyhole surgery on 1st August 2025, and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. From my very first consultation, Professor Frampton was professional, clear, and reassuring. He took the time to explain the procedure in a way that was easy to understand, addressing all my concerns and making me feel completely at ease. The operation itself was a complete success, albeit “challenging” due to the very enlarged and pus-filled gallbladder. My recovery has been smooth and relatively swift. The care I received from Professor Frampton and his team was outstanding. Their expertise and attention to detail were evident every step of the way, and I felt that I was in the safest of hands. I am so grateful for Professor Frampton’s skill and dedication. He is not only a brilliant surgeon, but also a truly compassionate doctor and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a gallbladder operation. He has made a significant difference to my quality of life, and I am so thankful for his excellent care.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Professor Adam Frampton for the outstanding care I received before, during, and after my surgery. Professor Frampton took the time to explain the procedure in great detail, which gave me full confidence and clarity going into the operation. His guidance throughout was extremely professional and reassuring. The laparoscopic removal of my pedunculated accessory liver lobe was a complete success, and I am very grateful for the skill and precision he brought to this complex procedure. Post-operative care was exceptional. Professor Frampton visited me at my bedside at 7:15 am the morning after surgery, and also personally called me on Sunday afternoon to check on my recovery — a level of care that truly stood out. I would also like to commend his medical secretary Sarah, who was consistently helpful, responsive, and professional throughout the entire process. Her support made everything much smoother. I highly recommend Professor Frampton for his exceptional surgical expertise and compassionate approach to patient care.

Professor Frampton was an excellent choice. He was easy to talk to, listened and explained any tests/results/his diagnosis clearly. He was patient yet to-the-point and is clearly very experienced in his field. He made me feel at ease very quickly both at Consultation and before/after Surgery. My gall bladder removal was carried out with ease and expertise under Professor Frampton's care and he ensured any scarring was minimal. He was quick to respond to any Qs I had with speed, both before and after Surgery through his staff. Thank you!

I have been very pleased with my treatment and surgery by Prof Adam Frampton. I was able to get an initial appointment quickly after ending up in urgent care with an acute crisis. He was able to schedule scans quickly, evaluate the situation, and then presented me with a few options, carefully discussing the benefits and risks of each. Once I had made the decision, the surgery was scheduled quickly and he provided me with diet options and advice to best prepare me for surgery. He performed a successful surgery, explained what he did after, and provided adequate aftercare. I would not hesitate to go back to him if I needed additional treatment in his area of expertise.

I was referred to Professor Frampton after experiencing increasing pain which he diagnosed as gallbladder trouble. He took the time to talk me through the options in an easy-to-understand and clear way, which was a great help and reassurance. Prof. Frampton explained and guided me through the process: MRI test, the procedure itself, and post op care. The procedure (laparoscopic cholecystectomy) - gallbladder removal keyhole – was carried out a few weeks ago. It was very efficient, and my recovery has been faster than I expected – especially so since it was discovered that my gallbladder was very inflamed causing complications in the procedure. Prof. Frampton personally called my husband whilst I was in recovery to explain the procedure had gone well and that I was recovering well – greatly appreciated that he should do so in person. The hospital and all staff were very warm and supportive, and post op care has been excellent. None of us wants to undergo surgery…but if one has to do so, this was as smooth and professional as it can be. Highly recommended

Prof Frampton carried out an open inguinal hernia repair for me. The whole process felt reassuring and professional and I had the feeling I was in very good hands from the start. The initial consultation determined the need for the procedure but Prof Frampton was happy to have a follow-up chat on the phone just to cover some concerns I had. The procedure itself went smoothly and the in-hospital care was excellent from both Prof Frampton and his team. On the whole it was pretty much exactly what you would want this sort of procedure to be like.
