Mixed media fence is a specialty of ours at Pro Fence Design. “Mixed Media” is exactly what it describes as this is when we combine wood with metal, metal with vinyl, stone with iron and many other material associations into one fence. For this particular design in Southport, Connecticut, our client wanted a traditional aluminum pool fence around the back and sides of their pool. At the front however, they wanted privacy in wood. To connect the designs, we married aluminum pickets as a topper to privacy cedar panels then painted them all white while leaving the pickets black. This high-contract design also included an arbor entrance with a swooped privacy gate to access the pool area. The mixed media model and its color visually connected the back yard fence to the front and all to the house colors. The client was thrilled and this model which has been replicated on several other properties in Fairfield County’s, seaside towns.
