Practical Car & Van Rental Windsor

We were in a pinch when a rental from Enterprise fell through last minute and we needed to move house. Practical Car were open Saturday afternoon (the only one open on Saturday afternoons!) and came to our rescue. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and help us out. They had a good range of vans and were super helpful providing a phone holder. Would definitely recommend!

Hired a van from them this week to pickup a settee from Ikea . Brilliant company and very pleasant staff . Can’t recommend them highly enough . Easy straight forward none of the little extras the large companies try to force on you Definitely use them again Well done everyone keep up the good work

I hired a van from Practical Van and Car Hire in Windsor for a trip to France, and the experience was faultless. Many other companies were either unsure about the international documentation or gave incorrect advice about the requirements. Pedro, however, was knowledgeable and made everything clear from the start, including providing the essential VE103B form. The van itself was in excellent condition, clean and modern, and well equipped with cruise control and Apple CarPlay, which made the long journey far more comfortable. Collection was smooth, with a clear handover, and returning the vehicle was just as easy. Pedro handled everything professionally and efficiently. The Practical Windsor branch provided excellent service, offering a swift explanation and demonstration of the hired van. Pedro's exceptional service and competitive pricing were particularly noteworthy.

For sure it was convenient; as I'm local in Windsor, and it was at an average price, but the website pictures/description and the condition of the van, are too far apart. I had to "kick" the sliding door in to shut it closed, the van had damage all over, the cabin was dirty and the EML (engine management light ) was on, and they have stuck a black electrical tape to hide it, please see pictures. Not sure what the problem was that made the EML light to switch it on, but it is an immediate failure on the MOT test, so I ask - why are they allowed to do that? DO NOT USE THEM. Pay a bit more but get a van which is of good quality and is working properly.

Used a couple of different vans from here to move house and empty storage last month. Very smooth transactions, great prices, and really helpful staff. Moving is already fairly stressful and it helps when everything else goes well. I'll definitely be using Practical again.

I have had a great experience with the guys in Windsor. Rented a VW Transporter for 10 days to take the family Skiing in France. Very competitively priced quote and lovely experience dealing with the guys. The Van wasn't it A1 condition but this is a commercial van hire company so the vans have been "used" by commercial clients and therefore can't expected to be in showroom condition. Externally the panels had a few "donks" on them but that's just a cosmetic thing. Mechanically the vehicle was sound and inside the cabin was clean and tidy. Will definately be using these guys again and have already recommended them to friends.

This started of as a fantastic exspensive with very helpfull service. Easy and fast, only downside is the car was never cleaned with previous rental cups and food still in the car. It all turned sour after I returned the car. There was no information on additional charges when I went back to ask about he additional charge. I was told the car was returned damaged. It was not damaged by me. A very fine hairline scratch was visible on the car. I took pictures when I dropped the car, I showed the same that had no scrach or damage on the same area when I dropped it Saterday evening where I was told to park it after hours. I was just told sorry there is nothing we can do, despite the fact that I showed the pictures with no damage on it.
