Excellent location near coast path and Bude town. Very comfortable. Big breakfast and choice of evening meal. A place you go back to. See the geese flying over in the morning and the bats in the early evening.

As soon as we arrived Chris greeted us warmly, and in a very short time presented us with a lovely cream tea. The views from the property could hardly be beaten, the sea, the greens, golf course, the cricket square, and up the slight hill you came down, leading back into Bude town. We had the Gold Room which has its own balcony and seating , and I only slightly mark it down to 4 star, to alert you to the fact that there are stairs to climb. The Green Room is on ground floor and so easier for some. The meals are lovely. I certainly couldn't manage all courses at dinner, and had, at my own request a smaller "Cornish" breakfast than the one on offer. If you've been before, as we have, you will know what a lovely little town Bude is with it's quite different small shops. Lots of places around and about to go, great shopping in Bideford, lovely garden centre if it's raining, lovely beaches when it's not. Tip - finding the Pot & Barrels own car park slightly tricky the first time. As you approach it says 'Penarvor Apartments Private Parking'. Ignore and drive through and you will be exactly where you want to be. Enjoy.

We spent 6 glorious days in early January, it totally fulfilled our wishes. Chris is a superb host👏, so welcoming and always on hand with any relevant info. Excellent breakfast and evening meals were extremely good too😋. So nice not to have to go out looking for somewhere to eat each night. We were extremely lucky with the weather, although it was cold we had blue skies and sunshine. Lovely walks on the beach & coastal path followed by relaxing in Chris's sun lounge over looking the beach reading our books soaking up the wonderful views. Thank you so much Chris, hope to visit again.🤗 Tim & Rose Gomersall

This is a lovely bed and breakfast in a lovely location. The owner is a nice host and always makes you feel very welcome. The rooms are lovely and luxurious and very clean. The beds are comfortable allowing for a good night sleep after all the busy days. Food is excellent and there is a good variety on the menu. I would recommend this as an excellent base for touring the beautiful Cornish countryside.

Perfect location and Chris is the perfect host. The breakfast is amazing, the person who said its the best meal of the day had obviously stayed here! The bedroom has a comfy bed, and great views from the balcony The cream tea on arrival is a great touch, and sets the standard for the rest of the stay

My husband and I were able to spend 6 nights just before this last lockdown, this being our third visit this year with another three booked for next year. We love it, the Pot and Barrel is like a home from home, the accommodation is everything you'd want, the food is excellent and Chris the host could not be more accommodating, he has thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. Bude is a great place to visit summer or winter and until we can go cruising again we will continue visiting Bude. Every need is taken care of, its like cruising but without the sea sickness. We love it.

Lovely B&B. Chris is a very warm host. The location, for me was excellent. A few paces from the beach, so you come home with sand in the car to remind you. Our second visit. You can leave the car all day while walking the cliffs. Came with Caroline. Went to 'Life's a Beach' to eat (book it beforehand). The views are superb. Lovely for a break to blow the cobwebs away, or just to enjoy Cornwall. Bring a wetsuit if so inclined. And maybe a windbreak ! Very happy cornish days.

A 1st class, 5 star B&B in a magnificent location within sight and sound of the sea. Chris is a wonderful host who provides an excellent and varied breakfast. Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and a good shower. Can't wait to go again.
