I recently contacted PoolSide Solutions based on its strong reviews and was pleased to have Mitch, the owner, personally assist me in selecting a replacement pool filter. The installation, handled by Jake and Andrew, was excellent—they arrived on time, worked efficiently, and left a great impression. Because of this positive experience, I decided to hire them for my pool opening and weekly valet service.
Unfortunately, my pool opening experience fell short. I took the day off to be home during the scheduled 8 AM - 12 PM time slot, but by 11:30 AM, I had not received a call or message regarding a delay. After reaching out to reschedule, I was informed they could still send someone out the same day. While I appreciate the effort, the new tech—Mike—handled the opening while I wasn’t home, and I believe this contributed to the issues.
For one of my pool ladders, I was correctly advised that installation wasn't possible due to a missing rubber foot. However, the other ladder was simply inserted into the ground slots without securing it properly. My understanding is that the bolts should be tightened, and the cover pushed down. Additionally, one pool cover anchor was left raised, while the rest were secured. These oversights make me question whether the pool opening was completed thoroughly.
Another concern was the $175 charge for a return trip after my water level was deemed too low for the filter startup. While I understand that this policy is stated in writing, Mike’s return visit was solely to turn on the equipment—something I could have done myself. If a return trip was necessary, I would have expected him to complete the ladder installation and secure the anchor bolt during the visit.
I truly appreciate the excellent work that Mitch, Jake, and Andrew have done, but the pool opening did not meet the same service level. Given the strong first impression, I expected the same attention to detail, but unfortunately, there were several issues that left me questioning whether the job was completed thoroughly.
